**I feed BLUE BUFFALO Dry Puppy Food.  I will include a sample of the Blue Buffalo Dry Puppy Food.  Blue Buffalo is a very good dog food and you can purchase at PetSmart and Petco.

Blue Wilderness is the adult food I feed my dogs and is made by Blue Buffalo.  Blue Wilderness does not currently offer puppy food.  I highly recommend Blue Wilderness when you switch to adult dog food; it is a TOP NOTCH dog food.  For Mature dogs I recommend BLUE Longevity for Mature Dogs.  I also like the Blue Buffalo/Wilderness canned food to mix a little in with their dry food as an occasional treat.

Check out the BLUE BUFFALO site for the dog food that fits your dog's age and lifestyle.

Wellness, Solid Gold, and Innova Evo are also a top notch pet foods too, but neither are not readily available in my area.  I highly recommend feeding a high quality dog/puppy food.

Dog Food Analysis is a great site to check quality.  More dog food info on HOME page.

Please remember puppies are going to chew to relieve their teething, it's natural.  Keeping them well supplied with their own chew toys will keep them from chewing on 'your' toys.

I suggest reading the full ‘Bringing your Puppy Home’  and Puppy Socialization from Iams.

Doodle Grooming

Doodle Grooming is not time consuming.  A few tips to follow...

** Baths are not needed unless you would like them to have one.  Doodles usually love the water and will enjoy a bath, but they do not need often.  Only use a gentle shampoo, as most shampoos will remove needed oils from their skin.

** If your dog is covered in mud, just use water, let the dog dry and the dried mud will merely fall from their coat.  You may want to confine to a kennel while drying.

** Trim hair under the ear-flaps (against the cheek) short.  Keep hair removed from inside ear to prevent ear infections.  Doodles will have a varying amount of hair inside the ears.

**Sometime keeping the hair trimmed short on their bottom is very helpful and recommended, depending upon the coat.

** Check frequently for matts between the toes and trim them out.

This is a great page for grooming Labradoodles, complete with pictures on the Rainmaker Labradoodle site...  Labradoodle Grooming Instructions.

Here's a great link for Goldendoodle grooming.  I think it works for all Doodles.  It is long, but worth the time to read... DogBreedInfo Goldendoodle grooming.

Doodle Characteristics and Temperament

"Confident, joyful, vivacious, clown like, sociable and friendly, totally non aggressive, clever and extremely intuitive. The breed is well suited for special work such as Therapy Dog, Assistance Dog, Hearing or Seizure Alert Dog, Guide Dog. They can try to outsmart their owners just for fun, if not firmly disciplined when young. Responds well to positive training methods. Loyal and devoted to families. Most love water and are natural swimmers and retrievers. Affectionate and loving. Active and athletic when free, but should 'melt' into mellowness when touched by human hands."

Because most pets lack proper nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in their diet, even when they are getting the top of the line food, NuVet® scientists understood the necessity of filling this dangerous gap.

Pets are just as susceptible to joint diseases and ailments as their human companions, which is why we created NuJoint Plus®.  Senior pets aren’t the only ones that can suffer from Arthritis, Osteoporosis, joint inflammation and aching bones. In fact pets of all ages often become afflicted with joint problems due to contaminated food, household and environmental toxins, injury and breed genetics.
